Hello people! Wake up your idea! Do not for the sake of overthrowing common enemy and cast your votes anyhow. The opposition parties have only been addressing constituency- level concerns and not nation-wide. We got an idiot talking about lowering manufacturing industry, the other talking about using up federal funds and providing more subsidies and so on. Do you all actually know the impact of voting for opposition?
You peeps have been ranting through social media about PAP about our minsters' rising salary, increasing house costs, inflation, unjustifiable pay increments against rising costs and even picking on nifty gritty details on how the constituency do not handle my area well. Do you people even know how to run a country? No? Then please do not pass judgmental opinion.
Do you know that when an American president retires, he gets about 100K per month as a show of appreciation for running the country? While our ministers do not get paid after they retire. Align our GDP against big countries such as America, isn't our ministers' pay justifiable, considering the GDP yielded based on our country's size? Do you not get a comfortable life? Come on, be appreciative. Of course, there are certain things I am unhappy about PAP, but I am sure after this election, they will definitely introduce legislations and changes. And to my beloved leader, gone are the days of threats or taunts, it does not work anymore since now we are mostly educated, thus able to make a choice.
Next, rising house costs is due to the fact of the small land size in Singapore. Ever experience jams? Thats a result of low COE bidding price and end up, more people are able to afford cars. And the change of rising COE price will not be able to reverse the effects permanently. This theory is applicable to the housing allocation in Singapore. If housing prices are cheap, more people will invest in houses and this causes an unbalance ratio of between the number of houses and people.
Oh talking about subsidies, ever hear of this Singaporean who would rather move to Britain for an operation and end up he is still in the queuing list after 6 mths, and subsequently he is dead? As the saying goes, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime" and isn't this mentality cultivated in all Singaporeans now as we are self-reliant and do not wait for grants to magically appear in front of us?
Of course, I do disagree on some policies, for example the one-leader-rule-it-all mindset. Because I am a firm believer of democracy and it comes with many heads providing many opinions before coming up with a solution. And of course, to keep the main party in check, it enables people to trust the government more.
As I look at the people who attended the rallies, I worry about the future of Singapore. Most of them are the older generation who felt suppressed and needed a change since most of them come from lower income family and are uneducated. Many of the youths now show their support or discontentment by liking or disliking a video or even tweeting about it. I am sorry to say this is pure bullshit, cause you guys obviously do not even dare to stand up or more so, do not even know what is going on and simply take other opinions from people and form your own. There's a reason why Singapore is one of the top nation in the world and always remember we achieve it through a government who stand tall and be forefront about their acts.
Of course the main party has to know what is going on, since there has been an increasing discontentment amongst Singaporeans. Always remember that your vote counts towards the drastic changes made, DO NOT for the sake of opposing and cast your votes anyhow to opposition parties. Read their manifestos, their goals and promises made before casting your vote.
